The Foxfire Books:

Foxfire Volumes One Through Five

These links allow access to pdf versions of the first five volumes of The Foxfire Books. These books were published starting with Volume One in 1972 as anthologies of the Foxfire Magazines which were published by the students of Northeast Georgia’s Rabun Gap-Nacoochee High School beginning in 1967. Foxfire The Magazine began as a project to inspire the interest of a high school english class but soon became much more. Included here with these first five volumes in pdf is a pdf titlted “foxfirefundinc” which tells a bit of the story of Foxfire. I was raised with these books in my home and eagerly awaited the release of each new volume. They can still be purchased today as physical books and I highly recommend that one keep them accessible in the home. Let these pdf versions serve as an advertisement; review the table of contents of volume one then begin reading about Aunt Arie and I think you will consider the purchase. The “Foxfire Giftshop” listing is a link to the Foxfire Giftshop where any or all of these may be purchased in good old-fashioned paper and ink. They are kinda expensive as individual purchases, but these are heirloom quality items; I would rather have the first four Foxfire Books in a cased set than the family china service. There are twelve enumerated volumes and several specialty books. The best set I have ever owned was the first four Foxfire Books as a cased set in hardcover; a collectors set. The most use I have put to Foxfire volumes was the paperback versions of the first two; I wore them out, even though I consciously took care of them as well as I could. Digital copies of these books are extremely rare. I found these in public domain and it is my intent to preserve that status of “in the public domain” here. I am trying to assemble all the Foxfire at Internet Archive but for now let us be thankful for what we have.

The Foxfire Online Gift-Shop

These books are much better as real Paper & Ink Volumes and there are more volumes than I have shared here. I will post more as I can, but even then you will likely want them in real book form. E-books are a chore and seem to hurt my eyes. There is no comparison. Have a look at The Foxfire Gift-Shop via these links but watch out for impulse buys; I’ll be saving up for the Wise choice which is the Full Set.
